Overseasidol.com — Chinese singer Huang Xiaoyun has found herself at the center of a plagiarism controversy after the promotional text for her latest release, “At Four, the Haitang Flowers Haven’t Slept”.

She was accused of bearing striking similarities to the description used for Shan Yichun’s song “Zhu Yu”.

The issue surfaced after netizens pointed out the uncanny resemblance between the promotional copy posted on music platforms and Huang’s personal social media, compared to Shan Yichun’s previous release.

The accusations have since sparked heated discussions across online music communities.

In response, Huang Xiaoyun’s management studio released an official statement addressing the matter.

According to the studio, both the music platform description and the artist’s Weibo post were drafted by the distribution partner and sent to the studio on June 6 and June 8, respectively, just ahead of the song’s official release.

“Due to oversight in the process, the content distributed has affected and potentially infringed upon the creative rights of another artist,” the studio acknowledged.

“We sincerely apologize to Ms. Huang Xiaoyun, her fans, and especially to the original creators impacted by this incident,”.

The studio further confirmed that all problematic materials have been taken down promptly.

They also pledged to urge the distribution company to issue a formal apology and conduct a thorough review to avoid similar situations in the future.
