Overseasidol.com — On May 18, artist and entrepreneur Huang Zitao hosted the official launch of his latest product under Duowei, his self-founded sanitary pad brand, at a production facility in Dongyang, Zhejiang.
The event signified Huang’s deep commitment to a socially conscious and often overlooked sector in male-led entrepreneurship, women’s health and hygiene.
During the product launch, Huang Zitao openly shared how his wife, Xu Yiyang, has been a crucial figure throughout the development process.
Speaking with heartfelt honesty, he referred to her as “his most trustworthy volunteer” in trying out the products.
“I know it might sound strange, but my wife is the one I trust most when it comes to testing these products,” he said.
“She gives honest feedback and isn’t afraid to tell me what’s wrong. That’s what I value most.”
Zitao also revealed that Xu Yiyang initially opposed the idea of him entering the sanitary product industry.
“She told me this business might be thankless, and it was out of love—she was worried for me,” he admitted.
He also said, “But I’ve always been the kind of person who acts on decisions. I don’t waste time making excuses.”
He emphasized that his wife’s skepticism stemmed from her cautious nature.
“She worries more than I do, but that’s exactly why her opinion matters so much to me. It makes me more certain about my path,” he added.
