Overseasidol.com — A storm of controversy has hit the entertainment world as Chinese influencer and singer He Qiushi faces mounting accusations of plagiarizing elements from Silence Wang’s 2024 concert tour.

The claims emerged following He Qiushi’s recent concert in Chengdu, where various aspects of her stage design and concept appeared remarkably similar to those used by the pop star.

According to multiple media outlets and sharp-eyed fans, several parts of He Qiushi’s performance, including a pink bunny costume, a custom embossed microphone, stage wings with colorful lighting schemes, and an interactive “scratch card” surprise element—strongly resembled creative ideas that were central to Wang Sulong’s concerts.

The backlash has extended to fan communities of other artists like Zhang Hao and Liu Yaowen, whose supporters claim their designs were also mimicked.

The issue quickly trended on Chinese social media platforms, sparking heated discussions about artistic originality and respect for intellectual property.

In response to the growing criticism, on the evening of June 2, He Qiushi issued a public apology directly addressing Silence.

He explained that many aspects of her concert including costumes, set design, and fan engagement ideas were outsourced to third-party professionals, and she may not have been fully aware of the similarities at the time.

Qiushi also announced a live broadcast scheduled for June 3 to address the matter in detail and answer public concerns.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, data from Qichacha, a corporate information platform, reveals that Silence holds a 10% stake in Beijing Da Xiang Wu Xing Music Co., Ltd, the company that has legally patented several of the key concert elements in question.

These patents include three variations of “Ten Thousand Volt Monster” plush dolls, a custom glow stick, and six designs of the “Su Long” character, which is a clever play on Wang Sulong’s name. “Su Long” has also been officially registered as a trademark and is featured prominently across his concert branding.

The patents, credited to designer Li Sirui, describe the items as being used for entertainment, decoration, and artistic identity, underscoring their uniqueness and legal protection.

The swift move to secure intellectual property rights highlights Wang Sulong’s proactive stance in safeguarding the originality of his work.
