Overseasidol.com — On the morning of October 22, Taiwanese actor and Energy member Kunda Hsieh arrived at Taoyuan International Airport after flying back from Canada.
Police officers had been deployed in advance, and as soon as Hsie appeared, he was escorted into a private room for questioning.
When asked by reporters whether he had used personal connections to falsify a medical certificate in order to avoid mandatory military service, Hsieh remained silent, only nodding slightly.
His brief gesture was widely interpreted as a subtle admission to the allegation.
A day earlier, on October 21, four male celebrities Xu Jiekai, Chen Bolin, Jone Chang, and Lollipop’s Liljay were detained and later released on bail in connection with the same investigation.
Kunda, who had been in Canada for work, became the fifth celebrity implicated in the case.
In an earlier statement, Kunda’s management company confirmed that he had canceled all overseas commitments and would return to Taiwan ahead of schedule to cooperate fully with the authorities.
The statement also emphasized that Hsieh accepts full legal responsibility for his actions and would not offer any excuses.
In photos taken at the airport, Kunda Hsieh was seen wearing a black jacket and a face mask, appearing visibly tense as he walked past reporters.
Police escorted him straight to the questioning room without any media interaction.
The New Taipei District Prosecutors Office is continuing its investigation into the alleged use of fake medical records to evade military service, with the public closely watching whether he will face formal charges or detention in the coming days.
