Overseasidol.com — LAPONE GIRLS updated its official website on December 22 to announce that four members of the girl group will leave the group.
ME:I, COCORO, RAN, SHIZUKU, and KOKONA will conclude their activities with the group following the expiration of their exclusive management contracts on December 31, 2025.
In its statement, the company confirmed that the contracts with the four members will officially end at the close of 2025,.
This is marking the conclusion of their journey as part of ME:I. LAPONE GIRLS expressed sincere apologies to fans for the sudden nature of the announcement and asked for understanding, while also extending heartfelt gratitude to the members for their dedication and contributions to the group.
ME:I was formed through the popular survival audition program PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS and debuted in March 2024 with the single “Click”.
Since then, the group has been active as an 11-member act, gaining significant attention both domestically and internationally.
COCORO, born on November 1, 2000, had previously suspended her activities in March 2025 after doctors advised her to focus on treatment and rest due to ongoing health issues. RAN, born on August 7, 2004 and known as the group’s sub-leader, entered a period of rest in July 2025 following mental exhaustion, as decided after discussions with the management team.
SHIZUKU, born on December 4, 2004 in Tokyo, was placed on hiatus in October 2025 after her agency announced that an incident had occurred that violated company regulations.
Meanwhile, the youngest of the four, KOKONA, born on January 30, 2006, most recently appeared at the final performance of ME:I’s first arena live tour encore in Tokyo on December 14, 2025.
As the year-end approaches, fans are reflecting on the memories created by the four members during their time with ME:I, while wishing them the very best in their future paths beyond the group.
