The fan later came forward to clarify the situation, explaining that the exchange was an inside joke between long-time fans who had supported Peng Xiaoran for seven years.
According to her, the term “overtime” actually referred to staying up late playing video games, commonly known among them as playing VALORANT.
She expressed regret over the misunderstanding, revealing that she became the target of online harassment, received extreme curses, and felt pressured to issue a public apology through a giveaway.
As criticism intensified, Peng Xiaoran addressed the matter directly on January 25 at 1:50 p.m. by posting a makeup-free video.
