Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Song Weilong recently addressed the nickname “wooden handsome guy” a label sometimes used by netizens to describe his on-screen presence.
In an interview with fashion magazine Vogue, he shared his belief that people should not be defined by superficial impressions or fixed labels.
Song noted that everyone has their own personality and strengths, and that judging someone solely based on appearances or public perception can be misleading.
He also admitted that he occasionally struggles with internal pressure and overthinking, but has learned to move past these feelings relatively quickly.
According to him, self-reflection is key when dealing with criticism. If he finds that feedback is constructive, he is willing to accept and learn from it.
However, if he feels the comments are unfounded, he chooses not to let them affect him emotionally.
The actor added that his reactions to both praise and criticism have become more balanced over time.
While he used to experience strong emotional highs and lows when reading public opinions, he now maintains a calmer and more mature outlook.
