On June 12, Hong Kong actor Tony Leung shared his thoughts during the main competition jury media meeting at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).
He offering insights into his experience serving alongside fellow jurors from different areas of the film industry.
Leung expressed gratitude to the festival organizers for inviting him to participate.
He described the opportunity as both meaningful and special, noting that it was a chance to support the growth of Chinese cinema on an international stage.
The award-winning actor revealed that he was able to accept the invitation because he was not occupied with any filming projects at the moment.
He also said that he has a strong connection with Shanghai and believes it is important for members of the Chinese film industry to support major cultural events such as SIFF.
Despite having spent more than 40 years building a remarkable acting career, Leung admitted that he still has much to learn.
He emphasized the importance of collaborating with fellow jurors, especially those with directing and filmmaking experience, whose perspectives can offer valuable insights beyond an actor’s point of view.
According to Tony Leung, discussions with the other jury members help him better understand and evaluate each film.
