Winwin has shared a heartfelt message with fans after officially ending his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment.
In a letter posted on July 9, 2026, the singer reflected on his 10-year journey as a member of NCT and WayV.
He expressed gratitude for everyone he met, from his trainee days to debuting with NCT 127 and later WayV.
Winwin described the past decade as one of the most meaningful chapters of his life.
The artist also thanked SM Entertainment for giving him the opportunity to debut, perform on stages around the world, and meet fans from different countries.
He said those experiences helped shape the person he is today.
He also revealed that after careful consideration and discussions with the company, both sides mutually agreed to end their partnership.

Hello everyone, I am WINWIN Dong Sicheng.
From 2016 to 2026, over the span of ten years, I wanted to sincerely write down these words to deliver a proper summary of my past decade.
In these ten years, walking the path from being a trainee to a member of NCT 127, and then to a part of WayV, I am deeply grateful to have met and crossed paths with so many people. I am very fortunate that everyone I encountered was warm and sincere.
The photos accumulated over these ten years occupy most of my phone’s memory. When I occasionally scroll through old photos from years ago, every single one hides a story and always brings back many memories. Looking back, although there were times of exhaustion and days filled with ups and downs, what remains in the depths of my heart are mostly moments of happiness, touching memories, and joy. Standing amidst the echoes of the past, these small yet real glimmers of light have become my most solid foundation. Every step mattered, and it has shaped the person I am today.
Thank you to every teacher, staff member, and older brothers and sisters in the company (SM Entertainment). Thank you for your guidance and the opportunities you provided. You gave a starting point to my young, green, and clueless self, allowing me to debut as a member of the group, giving me the chance to travel around the world, and to meet and communicate with the people who love us. You allowed me, as an SM artist, to stand on stage for the first time and have my very own spotlight for the first time. Without this foundation, perhaps many people wouldn’t know me, and I wouldn’t have met so many people who love me. The experiences of these ten years will be a precious memory for the rest of my life.
Over the years, I have gradually gained clarity on the direction I want to pursue in the future—balancing acting and the stage, while settling my heart to slowly refine my own works. After careful consideration and serious communication, the company and I have finally reached a mutual consensus on friendly terms. I sincerely wish SM, all the teams, and the members a smooth and shining future.
Next, I want to earnestly say thank you to all the friends and fans who have accompanied me along the way and who love me.
For so many years, you have crossed distances regardless of regions, walking alongside me through the entire journey and witnessing every single stage. I remember every light that shined for us from the audience, and I remember how you embraced my imperfections. Many times I am not good with words, but I have safely received and kept all your dedication in my heart.
