Overseasidol.com — On August 2, Chinese actress Zhao Lusi publicly exposed a major dispute with her agency, Yinhe Kuyu Media, via her social media.
She revealed that she has received no communication or resolution for months and deeply regretted renewing her four-year management contract years ago.
Zhao explained that due to a sudden illness, she had to cancel endorsements and filming schedules. However, instead of support, she was forced to shoulder financial penalties.
Her studio account was reportedly deducted 2.05 million yuan without official consent.
She further claimed the agency deceived her into signing a revenue-sharing document and refused to return operational control of her personal studio.
Over the past eight months, her team disbanded, and several staff members quit, leaving her to face the situation alone.
In her emotional post, Zhao stated that she is quitting the entertainment industry and wrote, “I can’t take it anymore! If I had gone to the police back then, they wouldn’t dare call this legal now,”.
She also shared her psychological evaluation results, which showed she is suffering from severe depression and severe anxiety disorder.
Her revelation quickly went viral on Chinese social media, drawing widespread support from fans and fellow celebrities.
Many are calling for a reform in celebrity contract laws to prevent exploitation and protect artist rights.
