Overseasidol.com — The period-themed light comedy drama Uncle is premiere on December 15, 2025, on CCTV’s drama channel.

The series will also be available simultaneously on Tencent Video and iQIYI.

The project is produced and written by renowned filmmaker Han Sanping, with Kong Ergou serving as both director and screenwriter.

Starring Guo Jingfei and Wang Jiajia in leading roles, Uncle also features special appearances by Chen Minghao and Zhang Xinyi.

Veteran actors Liu Yitie and Liu Peiqi join the cast in guest roles. Filming took place in Changchun, Jilin, and several other locations in northeastern China.

The story follows Cui Guoming, a university graduate who is laid off from a state-owned factory.

Driven by persistence and determination, he struggles to rebuild his life amid sweeping social and economic changes.

The series adopts a warm and humorous tone while realistically portraying family bonds, friendship, and personal growth.

Set against the backdrop of northern China, Uncle captures the everyday warmth of ordinary life while reflecting the broader transformations of the era.

Through simple yet heartfelt storytelling, the drama highlights how common people strive for stability and happiness during times of uncertainty.

Since 2024, the drama has undergone several production updates. It was later selected as part of Tencent’s major drama lineup for 2025 and gradually released promotional materials, including posters, trailers, and character stills.

The official theme song music video, titled Hey! Uncle, was released on December 14, further building anticipation ahead of its broadcast.
