Overseasidol.com — Actor Wang Xing, who previously drew public attention after being deceived by a fake acting offer and taken to Myanmar before being rescued with the help of his girlfriend, recently spoke in an interview with popular content creator Hua Zong Lost the Golden Cudgel.
The interview marked the first joint appearance of Wang Xing and his girlfriend, Kang Jia, as they reflected on their emotional journey throughout 2025.
Addressing public curiosity about marriage, Wang Xing emphasized that mutual respect and genuine love matter far more than rushing into wedlock.
He candidly admitted that his current financial situation does not allow him to take on the responsibilities of marriage.
For him, marriage means providing stability and a safe home, not merely enduring hardship. Entering marriage without that ability, he said, would feel irresponsible.
Kang Jia echoed his sentiments, noting that they share a clear understanding and similar expectations for the future.
She explained that they do not wish to make life-changing decisions simply because of public pressure or enthusiastic blessings from online audiences.
Both believe that relationships require personal benchmarks of readiness, focusing on what truly matters to each other rather than chasing external standards.
While they deeply respect one another, they also acknowledge that economic reality remains a crucial factor.
Despite being together for over four years, the couple described their relationship as still very much in a honeymoon phase.
Wang Xing shared his belief that maintaining freshness in love is not about meeting new people, but about exploring a wider world and experiencing meaningful moments together with the same partner.
When asked about the possibility of adapting his experience into a film or television project, Wang Xing said he is open to the idea, particularly if it could serve as a warning and raise awareness about fraud.
However, he stressed that any adaptation must carry a positive message, be handled by a professional team, and avoid exploiting suffering for dramatic effect.
He explained that the ultimate goal would be to help others stay vigilant and avoid dangerous situations.
Nevertheless, both Wang Xing and Kang Jia agreed that they would not portray themselves if such a project were produced.
Wang Xing even remarked that he would rather play a different character altogether.
Regarding the label of being a “victim,” Wang Xing acknowledged it as a fact but expressed a desire for the public to focus more on how the experience shaped him.
He hopes the ordeal will be seen as life experience that has become part of who he is, allowing him to move forward and take on new roles with greater depth.
Wang Xing also revealed additional financial struggles during the interview. While detained in Myanmar, his identity was used to take out online loans worth tens of thousands of yuan.
With unstable income at the time, he chose to repay the debt in installments. The situation compounded his hardships, forcing him to borrow money from Kang Jia to stay afloat.
