Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Wang Xing has opened up about the difficult aftermath of a scam incident that left him dealing with unexpected financial burdens.
His story recently gained attention after he shared the experience during a television appearance.
Speaking on the variety show First Job in Finance Season, Wang Xing and his girlfriend Kang Jia discussed topics such as marriage, finances, and personal challenges.
Their candid conversation, including discussions about prenuptial agreements and economic pressure, quickly became a trending topic online.
Wang Xing revealed that during the time he was trafficked to Myanmar after being deceived by a fake job offer, his phone was taken and used by others to apply for online loans worth tens of thousands of yuan.
After being rescued and returning to China, he had no choice but to repay the debt in installments.
He described his financial situation at the time as unstable, with irregular income making it difficult to cope with the sudden debt.
During that period, he even had to borrow money from his girlfriend to manage daily expenses and repayments.
The actor also addressed why he and Kang Jia have not yet married despite being in a long-term relationship.
He explained that financial constraints play a major role, as both of them are living and working in Shanghai and are not yet able to afford a home.
Wang Xing, 33, is a graduate of the Shanghai University Film Academy and has appeared in popular dramas such as You Are My Glory and Punishment.
In early 2025, he accepted a filming offer in Thailand but was instead lured into a scam operation that led to his disappearance in Myanmar.
