Overseasidol.com — The Asian idol scene marks a historic milestone as BNK48 from Thailand and TSH48 from China officially join forces for the first time.
The two sister groups have released a special collaboration single titled “Sky Lantern Wish”, a cross-border project that has quickly captured global attention.
The song represents a cultural bridge between Thailand and China, both musically and conceptually.
“Sky Lantern Wish” was written and composed by Li MaoYang (T2o), with musical arrangements handled by Mangoou, G-Tracy, and SFM Crew.
To ensure the song resonates with Thai audiences, the Thai lyrics were carefully adapted by Tanupop Notayanont.
The senbatsu lineup was selected through meaningful and symbolic processes.
BNK48 members were chosen from the Thai-Chinese Cultural Ambassador Project, while the TSH48 representatives came from the Top 3 winners of the TSH48 7th Anniversary Senbatsu Election.
BNK48 is represented by Hoop, Grace, Galeya, Jew, Nall, and Niya, while TSH48 features Ye Zhien, Gui Chuchu, and Wei Xiaoya.
More than just a collaborative release, “Sky Lantern Wish” stands as the first official joint single between BNK48 and TSH48.
With its theme centered on wishes, hope, and connection symbolized by floating sky lanterns, the song delivers a universal message that transcends language and borders.
