Overseasidol.com — Veteran Chinese actress Yan Qingyu recently shared a heartfelt message about her 43-year friendship with Liu Xiaoqing.
In a video posted on February 27, Yan described Liu as her “family chosen by fate” and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support she has received since her teenage years.
Yan revealed that she first met Liu Xiaoqing when she was just 14 years old, at a time when Liu was already an established star.
Over the decades, Yan said Liu has consistently offered guidance and generosity. She hopes to present the most authentic version of Liu to the public, especially to those who may misunderstand her.
The two actresses formed their bond while working on the historical film Burning of the Old Summer Palace.
Yan Qingyu later became widely recognized for her role as “Golden Flower Granny” in the popular television adaptation of The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber.
Meanwhile, Liu Xiaoqing has recently been trending online due to a kissing scene in her latest micro-drama Jinxiu Anran, which sparked heated discussions.
The situation escalated when a social media account named “Actor Gu Yanxiu” liked a comment describing the scene as a “workplace injury” leading some netizens to mistakenly believe that a cast member had personally mocked the situation.
On February 26, the production team of Jinxiu Anran, Xiaomogu Studio, released an official statement clarifying that the account in question is not affiliated with the cast or crew.
The statement explained that the user had reposted promotional materials without authorization and engaged in misleading interactions that fueled unnecessary speculation.
