In her statement, Liu Xiaoqing questioned whether the rumor could be seen as a form of “death prediction”, suggesting that some people seemed eager to spread news about her passing.
She also quoted a classical phrase implying that people should not harm those who share the same roots.
Her post included a screenshot of an online message alleging that the actress had died in a swimming pool in Hengdian.
The claim quickly attracted public attention and reignited discussions about the dangers of unverified information spreading across digital platforms.
This is not the first time Liu Xiaoqing has had to debunk similar reports.
In June last year, she also joked about another false death rumor, wondering why she was once again being reported as deceased.
