Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Xiao Zhan has won the “Most Popular Actor Among College Students” award at the 33rd Beijing College Student Film Festival, thanks to his role as Mo Dexian in the film Gezhi Town.
During his acceptance speech, Xiao Zhan expressed his excitement and gratitude, noting that it was his first time attending the festival and receiving such an honor.
He extended his appreciation to the entire production team, including director Kong Sheng and screenwriter Lan Xiaolong, for their dedication in bringing the story to life.
Xiao Zhan described his character, Mo Dexian, as an ordinary person who possesses intelligence, responsibility, and courage.
He hopes that the role can inspire audiences and bring encouragement, especially to young viewers.
“Even in difficult situations, this character finds hope. I hope this story can motivate people,” he said.
He also shared a heartfelt message for the students in attendance, encouraging them to pursue their passions and shine in their respective fields.
