Overseasidol.com — Japanese idol group Sakurazaka46 officially released their new sinlgle “Lonesome Rabbit” on May 19, 2026.
Alongside the digital release, the group also premiered the official music video on YouTube.
“Lonesome Rabbit” serves as one of the title tracks for the group’s first-ever double A-side single, “Lonesome Rabbit / What’s ‘KAZOKU’?”, which is scheduled for release on June 10, 2026.
Second-generation member Hikaru Morita takes center position for the song, adding even more excitement among fans eagerly anticipating the group’s latest comeback.
The music video strongly focuses on Sakurazaka46’s signature strength: performance-based choreography.
Through powerful visuals and emotional storytelling, the MV expresses the courage to accept one’s weaknesses while continuing to move forward confidently.
The song’s rock-inspired sound is combined with intense and highly synchronized choreography, creating a dramatic and energetic atmosphere throughout the video.
The MV was directed by Masaki Watanabe from maxilla, who previously worked on the group’s 13th single music video, “Unhappy Birthday”.
His visual direction once again highlights dynamic camera work and detailed dance-focused cinematography.
Hikaru Morita shared that the choreography for “Lonesome Rabbit” is the most difficult the group has ever attempted. She admitted that the members struggled during practice but continued encouraging each other to deliver the best possible performance.
According to Hikaru, the group hopes viewers will feel surprised and entertained by the final result, especially because of the song’s powerful concept and challenging dance sequences.
