Overseasidol.com — Exciting news has arrived for fans of Japanese idol group Sakurazaka46.
The formation for their 14th single, “The Growing Up Train,” has officially been revealed on the group’s regular TV program “Soko Magattara, Sakurazaka?”, broadcast on TV Tokyo.
The single is set for release on March 11 and is already generating buzz thanks to notable changes in the lineup.
The biggest highlight is the return of second-generation member Karin Fujiyoshi as the center for the title track.
This marks her second time holding the center position, her first being in the group’s 6th single “Start over!” nearly two years and nine months ago.
Fans have warmly welcomed her return to the spotlight, anticipating her strong stage presence and expressive performances.
This single also marks a milestone for Sakurazaka46’s fourth generation.
Three members who joined in April last year, Konomi Asai, Neo Sato, and Ui Yamakawa—have been selected for the main lineup (senbatsu) for the first time.
Their inclusion brings fresh energy to the group’s dynamic, with the full formation consisting of 16 members.
The front row features Mio Matono, Karin Fujiyoshi at the center, and Hono Tamura.
The second row includes Rei Ozono, Ten Yamasaki, Ui Yamakawa, Konomi Asai, Hikaru Morita, and Yu Murai.
Meanwhile, the third row is made up of Yuzuki Nakashima, Itoha Mukai, Rina Matsuda, Neo Sato, Rena Moriya, Shizuki Yamashita, and Airi Taniguchi.
The blend of experienced members and newcomers creates a balanced and promising formation.
In an interview during the show, Fujiyoshi expressed her determination to serve as a role model, especially now that fourth-generation members have joined the main lineup.
She shared her desire to lead by example and emphasized that all members will work together to deliver a memorable and high-quality single for fans.
