Kira shared the news through her official blog, where she expressed heartfelt gratitude toward fans, fellow members, and staff members who supported her throughout her journey with the group.
In her emotional message, Kira described Sakurazaka46 as a place that holds a special meaning in her life.
She said the group had become a comfortable and precious home filled with unforgettable memories and experiences.
Despite her love for the group, Kira admitted that deciding to leave was not easy.
She confessed feeling nervous about stepping away from a place that had become such an important part of her life.
However, after taking a long time to carefully think and discuss the matter, she felt it was finally the right moment to move forward.
Kira also explained that she believes she has done everything she wanted to accomplish as a member of Sakurazaka46.
She asked fans to continue supporting her as she begins a new chapter beyond idol activities.
Masumoto Kira first entered the Japanese idol industry in 2019 as part of the Sakamichi Trainee program.
In February 2020, she officially joined Keyakizaka46, the group that later rebranded as Sakurazaka46.
Throughout her career, Kira became well known for her unpredictable personality and unique charm.
Her eccentric character allowed her to stand out in variety shows and the group’s regular television programs, earning her a loyal fanbase and a memorable presence within the group.
