Set during the final years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the story follows the political turmoil that erupted after the Yellow Turban Rebellion.
As imperial authority weakened and eunuchs gained power, legendary figures including Cao Cao, Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu, Lü Bu, Sun Jian, and Liu Bei began their struggle for control of Luoyang.
The film opens with young Cao Cao punishing a powerful noble who violated the law, an event that marks the beginning of the fierce political conflicts that shaped the Three Kingdoms era.
As the first installment of the trilogy, the movie focuses on the rise of the era’s greatest heroes while using Luoyang as the center of its epic story.
The production combines historical inspiration with high-quality animation to recreate one of China’s most iconic historical periods.
The project was officially registered with China’s National Film Administration in December 2023 and entered production in January 2024.
On April 15, 2026, the studio announced its official release date and unveiled the first trailer, titled “Luoyang Storm”.
