Overseasidol.com — Taiwanese media have revealed a brewing family dispute involving actor Austin Lin.
According to his second and fourth uncles, Lin’s father allegedly borrowed NT$20 million (around USD 600,000) from them decades ago and has yet to repay the amount.
They claim to have financially supported Lin Bo-Hong during his school years.
But after the actor rose to fame, one uncle approached him to persuade his father to settle the debt.
Austin reportedly responded firmly to his father’s debt scandal.
“I will be responsible for my own life. If you are my creditor, I won’t owe you a single dollar.
But if you are not, then I will decide how to spend my money,” he said.
Following this, Austin Lin allegedly stopped responding.
In response, Austin’s father confirmed there was a past financial dispute but said it occurred over 30 years ago.
He stated there are no written records and the case has exceeded the statute of limitations.
He advised his brothers to take legal steps if necessary.
