Overseasidol.com — Japanese idol group AKB48 has officially revealed the Senbatsu lineup for their 67th single, scheduled for release on February 25, 2026.
The announcement was made during the fourth day of the grand AKB48 20th Anniversary Concert held at Nippon Budokan.
The spotlight of the day fell on Ito Momoka, who has been chosen as the center for this upcoming single marking her first-ever center position.
This also makes Momoka the first member from Generation 19 to lead a Senbatsu formation, a milestone that excited many fans.
The 16-member Senbatsu features a blend of familiar faces and rising talents across multiple generations.
They are Mukaichi Mion, Yamauchi Mizuki, Taguchi Manaka, Hashimoto Eriko, Sato Airi, Oguri Yui, Kuranoo Narumi, Yagi Azuki, Akiyama Yuna, Arai Sae, Kudo Kasumi, Ito Momoka, Hanada Mei, Kawamura Yui, Chiba Erii and Shitao Miu.
Additionally, Kawamura Yui and Kudo Kasumi earned their first-ever spots in Senbatsu, making the lineup even more noteworthy.
Fans both at the venue and online celebrated the announcement with great enthusiasm.
Ito Momoka’s appointment as the new center is widely seen as a refreshing step for AKB48 as the group enters its 20th anniversary era.
