Overseasidol.com — On December 7, Mayday’s lead vocalist Ashin addressed the controversy surrounding his participation in the upcoming F4 concert, where he will be performing in place of Ken Chu.
The announcement had previously sparked intense discussions among fans and social media users.
Speaking during a live broadcast, Ashin acknowledged the public’s desire to see the original four members together again.
“This is not the most complete lineup that everyone hopes for—we are fully aware of that,” he said.
He then reassured fans that the upcoming concert is not the final opportunity for a full F4 reunion.
“This concert is not the only chance in their lifetime as a group. We will never give up on making it possible for everyone to see the complete lineup they truly wish for,” Ashin emphasized.
Ashin’s involvement in F4 activities became a trending topic after it was confirmed that he would replace Ken Chu, who was reportedly removed from upcoming group promotions.
The change surprised many long-time fans of the iconic Asian pop-cultural group.
On December 5, F4 released a new song titled “Forever Forever,” featuring music composed by Jay Chou and lyrics written by Ashin.
The track is performed by Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Vic Chou, and Ashin, with Ken Zhu notably missing, fueling further speculation regarding his status.
The much-anticipated F4 concert will take place from December 19 to 22 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai.
Despite the lineup change, the event is expected to be one of the most talked-about concerts of the year, though many fans continue to hope for a future reunion of all four original members on the same stage.
