Overseasidol.com — A visit to Bangkok’s iconic Wat Arun turned into an unexpected controversy after Pond Krisda Wittayakajondej, executive of Be On Cloud, shared his frustrating experience on social media.

Pond revealed that he encountered a local photographer who repeatedly asked tourists to move out of public areas to clear the frame for paying clients.

According to Pond, the photographer believed to be affiliated with traditional Thai costume rental services kept pushing other visitors, including foreign tourists, away from scenic spots to secure uninterrupted photoshoots.

The behavior reportedly caused confusion and visible discomfort among visitors.

After initially remaining calm and observing the scenery, Pond eventually confronted the photographer.

However, the response he received was dismissive, with the photographer allegedly stating that others “should wait” implying exclusive control over the public space.

Pond firmly emphasized that Wat Arun is a public landmark, not a private venue.

He criticized the act of profiting at the expense of others’ comfort, especially at a site that represents Thailand’s cultural image on the global stage.

He further disclosed that actor Apo Nattawin, who was also present, faced the same treatment and was asked to move away from the area multiple times.

In his message, Pond called on Wat Arun’s management team to help preserve order and protect visitors’ experiences.

He stressed that commercial activities in cultural landmarks should operate within clear guidelines, without disturbing or taking advantage of others.

Pond concluded by reminding the public that Wat Arun is more than a tourist destination, it is a sacred cultural symbol that should reflect Thailand’s hospitality, respect, and sincerity toward visitors from around the world.
