While appearing on the variety show Who’s the Murderer Season 11, Chen shared what he described as the event that “broke him the most” that year a serious injury caused by slipping in the shower.
He admitted feeling helpless and guilty because the accident affected the production schedule of his projects.
The incident reportedly happened on January 28, 2025, which coincided with Chinese New Year’s Eve.
After finishing work that day, Chen returned home and accidentally slipped while taking a shower.
The fall was believed to have been caused by a slippery floor with leftover shower gel and the absence of anti-slip footwear.
The impact resulted in a comminuted fracture of his left clavicle.
The injury was severe enough that he initially tried to adjust the bone position himself but failed.
He was later rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed he needed surgery.
The procedure involved implanting five hook-shaped steel pins along with a fixation device to stabilize the clavicle joint.
Despite the pain and shock, Chen revealed that his biggest concern was not the injury itself, but the possibility of delaying filming schedules.
Since the accident did not occur during work, he felt responsible for any inconvenience caused to the crew.
