Overseasidol.com — Chinese actress Zhu Yuanyuan has sadly passed away on May 17, 2025, at 11:39 AM, after nearly five years of battling cancer.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed on May 21 by her husband, actor Xin Baiqing, who praised his late wife for her unwavering courage and positive spirit during her illness.
“Yuanyuan never gave up, even during the toughest times. She remained strong and confident throughout her fight,” Xin wrote in the official statement.
In accordance with Zhu’s final wishes, her funeral will be held in a simple, private manner.
Born on March 18, 1974, Zhu graduated from the prestigious Central Academy of Drama in 1997 and went on to enjoy a highly respected career in Chinese television and cinema spanning over 30 years.
She was 51 years old at the time of her passing.
Zhu made her acting debut in 1995 in the television drama “Yi Di Ji Mao”, followed by key roles in series such as “Urban Hero” (1996), and most notably, “Pingzui Zhang Damin’s Happy Life” in 1998, which won her multiple awards including the Golden Eagle Award for Most Popular Actress.
