Overseasidol.com — Da-iCE member Sota Hanamura has officially released his pre-debut album “ASCEEENSION” on June 3, introducing a bold new chapter in his musical career and artistic identity.
Although Sota has spent more than ten years in the spotlight and achieved significant success with Da-iCE, he intentionally describes the project as a “Pre-Debut Album”.
The title reflects his desire for reinvention, creative growth, and the pursuit of a fresh artistic direction under his own name.
Featuring 13 tracks including bonus songs, “ASCEEENSION” showcases Sota’s songwriting and production talents while also bringing together contributions from several renowned Japanese artists.
The album includes the previously released track “Me.exe”, alongside “To you” written by Yudai Ohno, “We Got This” written, composed, and arranged by eill, and “Ienai” written and composed by SIRUP.
Released simultaneously with the album is the music video for the lead track “Lose”.
Built around a funky groove and sophisticated pop sound, the song explores the excitement of unexpectedly giving in to love.
Through clever storytelling, subtle irony, and a mature perspective on relationships, SOTA HANAMURA turns romantic defeat into an engaging and exhilarating experience delivered through his unique vocal style.
The album arrives ahead of SOTA HANAMURA’s first solo tour, which begins in June and will culminate in his debut solo performance at the prestigious Nippon Budokan on August 17.
