Overseasidol.com — Hong Kong veteran actor Felix Wong made a rare public appearance on January 5 to attend the press conference for “Happy Together Again 2026 in Concert”.
The actor, who resides in Tai Po, spoke emotionally about the devastating fire that recently struck Hong Fook Court.
During the event, Wong expressed heartfelt sympathy for the affected families.
“Everyone is feeling heavy-hearted. We must stay strong and look toward the future.
To all the victims, you are not alone every Hong Kong citizen will walk this difficult path with you toward a brighter tomorrow,” he said.
Felix shared that he passes by Hong Fook Court almost every day. Seeing the burned remains of the building made him imagine the horror residents experienced during the tragedy.
Despite the sadness, he was moved by how Hong Kong’s younger generation showed compassion and efficiency in helping the victims.
Speaking about his career, Felix Wong confirmed once again that he has officially retired from showbiz.
“I have basically left the entertainment industry. I won’t take on any new film or television roles.
I understand my own limitations, and I’d rather leave behind good memories for the audience while giving myself time to do what I enjoy,” he said.
He added that many talented young artists deserve the spotlight now and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
When asked whether he would return if his daughter requested it, Wong laughed and replied, “She knows me well. She wouldn’t ask!,”.
