Overseasidol.com — On October 28, the list of winners for the 2025 Tokyo Chinese Film Week Golden Crane Awards was officially revealed, celebrating the excellence of Chinese cinema on an international stage.
The crime thriller “Octopus with Broken Arms” took home the Best Film Award, while Lay Zhang (Zhang Yixing) won Best Actor for his emotional performance in “MuMu”.
Zeng Mengxue was honored with the Best Actress Award for her role in “Love List”.
Director Xia Yu received the Best New Director Award for “Love List”, while veteran filmmaker Andrew Lau (Liu Weiqiang) earned the Best Director Award for his film “ “The Dumpling Queen”.
The Most Popular Film Award also went to “Mumu”, reaffirming its resonance with audiences. Xiao Yang was recognized as an Outstanding Actor for his performance in “Octopus with Broken Arms”.
In the animation category, “Curious Tales of a Temple” claimed the Best Animated Film Award, highlighting the growing strength of Chinese animation on the global stage.
