Overseasidol.com — On October 12, Japanese idol group HKT48, based in Hakata, Fukuoka, announced through their official website that all theater performances scheduled from October 13 to 18 have been canceled.
The management explained that the cancellation was due to delays caused by a restructuring of the staff in charge of theater operations.
“More time than expected was required to prepare and adjust the new system,” the statement said.
They added, “We believe holding a show without being fully prepared could cause inconvenience to our audience. Therefore, though it was a difficult decision, we have decided to cancel the performances,”.
HKT48 has not held a theater performance since September 15, and was originally set to resume on October 13.
The group issued an apology to fans, saying, “Due to our operational shortcomings, we have betrayed the expectations of those who always support us. We sincerely apologize once again,”.
Following the announcement, several members shared their appologies to fans.
