Overseasidol.com — A stabbing incident occurred on December 14 near the commercial complex Boss E·Zo Fukuoka in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, leaving a man and a woman injured.

Police later arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder involving the male victim.

The suspect has been identified as Naoya Yamaguchi, an unemployed resident of Itoshima City in Fukuoka Prefecture.

According to police investigations, Yamaguchi is a fan of the idol group HKT48 and is believed to have attended related events five to six times a month.

The male victim, aged 44, is a staff member of HKT48’s management company.

The attack reportedly occurred after he warned the suspect for being in a restricted area where staff elevators are located at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka, which is adjacent to the E·Zo complex.

Shortly after the warning, the suspect allegedly stabbed him in the chest with a knife-like object.

Following the first attack, a 27-year-old female office worker from Okayama Prefecture was also stabbed near the entrance of the E·Zo facility.

She was reportedly waiting for a friend at the time and stated that she had no prior acquaintance with the suspect.

Both victims were taken to hospital and are not in life-threatening condition.

According to HKT48’s official website, the E·Zo complex houses the group’s theater and management offices.

The theater was closed on the day of the incident. All HKT48 members who were inside the building were safely evacuated and unharmed.

Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and are working to clarify the full sequence of events.
