Overseasidol.com — Hong Kong-listed entertainment company Ruyi Holdings has unveiled its 2024 annual report, revealing several exciting upcoming projects in both film and television.
On the film front, a major highlight is the adaptation of the award-winning Chinese sci-fi novel “We Live in Nanjing”, which won two Galaxy Awards, China’s top science fiction honor.
The movie adaptation titles in English as “Echoes of Encounter”, different by the original Chinese.
The project is currently in active development, with acclaimed director Lu Yang (Brotherhood of Blades, A Writer’s Odyssey) at the helm.
The film will be produced by Chen Zhixi, with Wang Hongwei serving as executive producer.
The story centers around Bai Yang, a high school senior living in Nanjing in 2019, who unexpectedly connects via radio with Ban Xia, a mysterious woman claiming to be the last human survivor in a post-apocalyptic Nanjing in the year 2040.
Initially skeptical, Bai Yang soon realizes the truth and joins forces with Ban Xia in a time-traveling mission to save humanity from extinction.
