Overseasidol.com — Thai actor Son Yuke recently responded to questions about the possibility of acting in a Y (BL) series.
When asked whether he might take such a role, Son said he did not have much experience. However, he was open to it.
He added that if a good script and opportunity appeared, he would gladly accept the challenge.
A reporter then asked him what he thought about gay-themed dramas. The reporter continued by saying that some actors who appear in Y series are often assumed to be gay by the public.
Son’s answer was direct and confident: “Are gay people not ordinary human beings?,”.
He continued by explaining his viewpoint. “People who are gay don’t go around thinking about being gay. I don’t know how to tell the difference. The world is very open now. If I act in a Y series, it will be about two souls loving each other. I already look beyond gender,”.
Later, when someone implied that BL stories are “different” from regular dramas, Son questioned that idea. “How is it different?” he replied.
Before ending, Son shared that he was waiting for the right project.
“It depends on my schedule. If I take a BL role, will people wait to watch it? I’m not too old yet. Thank you. I’ll keep this in mind,” he explained.
