Legendary filmmaker Stephen Chow has officially introduced 19-year-old newcomer Xue Ye as the newest actress (Star Girl).
The announcement was made on July 11, 2026, through his manager, Chris Chan Zhenyu.
Xue Ye makes her big-screen debut in Kung Fu Soccer, which premiered on the same day. In the film, she plays a character who shares her own name.
The announcement quickly attracted widespread attention, as Xue Ye became the first actress to receive the official Star Girl title from Stephen Chow in eight years.
The previous Star Girl was Lin Yun, who debuted in The Mermaid in 2016.
Xue Ye now continues that legacy as the newest face introduced by the acclaimed director.
