Overseasidol.com — The highly anticipated Chinese historical mystery drama The Imperial Coroner Season 2 officially premiered on Tencent Video on January 15, 2026.
Produced by Tencent Video in collaboration with Linghe Culture, the series is directed by Lou Jian and Li Nan, with a screenplay by Qingxian Yatou, Qian Xiaobai, and Liu Yu.
Wang Ziqi and Su Xiaotong reprise their lead roles, joined by Yang Tingdong, Zhao Yaoke, Wang Yanxin, and special appearances from Zhang Chenxiao alongside several veteran actors.
Adapted from the novel Ming Bu Fu Ren by Qingxian Yatou, the second season remains set in the late Tang Dynasty during the later years of Emperor Xuanzong’s reign.
The story unfolds against the tense and fragile political relationship between the Tang Empire and its neighboring state, Nanzhao, raising the stakes far beyond the first season.
