The account can no longer be found, and the profile page now displays the message, “This account has been closed at the user’s request and is no longer available,”.
Earlier, on the night of August 13, Zhao Lusi surprised fans by announcing that she would delete her Weibo account.
In her post, she wrote, “Really helping farmers, but still need to log out, bye-bye,”.
However, the closure could not take effect immediately. During a livestream, Zhao Lusi explained that Weibo requires a 15-day cooling-off period before an account is permanently removed.
She jokingly said, “It’s like getting a divorce, what’s there to calm down about?”
Before her account was shut down, Zhao Lusi had more than 30 million followers on Weibo. This decision has drawn major attention from fans and media alike.
