Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Sun Jian recently shared an unfortunate experience during his trip to Spain.

On April 23, he revealed on social media that his bag was stolen on the very first day of his visit, leaving him without his passport, phone, wallet, headphones, and ID cards.

He described the feeling as if “the sky had fallen”.

According to Sun Jian, the incident took place at a café while he was on a phone call.

A man approached and asked if the seat next to him was taken.

Sun responded that it was, and he placed his bag there to reserve the seat. After finishing his call, he realized the bag was gone.

He immediately rushed to the nearest police station, but was told they were closing and could not take his report.

A second station also turned him away. Finally, at the third station, he was able to file a report after waiting for two hours.

Officers told him that Barcelona sees tens of thousands of theft cases daily, and reviewing surveillance footage would take time.

The incident sparked widespread discussion online, with many netizens offering advice such as checking nearby trash bins in case the thieves discarded unneeded documents, and urging travelers to always keep their belongings within sight.

On April 24, Sun Jian followed up with another post, sharing surveillance footage of the incident.

The video showed three individuals moving around the area before one of them eventually made the grab.

Sun admitted that the theft happened partly due to his own carelessness and used the opportunity to remind others to stay alert when traveling, especially abroad.
