Overseasidol.com — According to the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, a Chinese model Zhong Luobin has been successfully rescued after going missing abroad.
The embassy emphasized that the rescue was made possible through coordinated efforts.
Once again, the embassy reminds Chinese citizens to be cautious of overseas “high-paying job” scams. Foreign nationals must obtain legal work permits when working in Thailand.
The case gained public attention after Chinese media reported that Zhong’s sister from mainland China revealed her younger brother had accepted a job offer for a magazine cover shoot.
On June 8, he flew from Guangzhou to Thailand. By June 13, he informed his sister that he had been trafficked to Myanmar, without disclosing his exact location. He then lost contact completely.
Zhong’s sister filed police reports in both Guangzhou and Bangkok. Authorities launched an investigation, which eventually led to her brother’s safe recovery.
The Chinese Embassy reiterated the dangers of illegal recruitment and stressed that working abroad requires proper documentation.
The public is urged to verify any overseas job offers before making travel decisions.
