He firmly denied ever being at the “incident scene” involving Yu Menglong.
Gao stressed that all related claims were baseless malicious speculation.
He said the rumors had severely damaged his reputation and caused negative social impact.
Gao confirmed that he had immediately hired a lawyer, filed a police report, and would use legal measures to defend his rights.
He also urged the public to respect the deceased, stop spreading false information, and delete unverified content.
The actor reminded netizens that the internet is not beyond the law. He warned that anyone continuing to spread defamation would face legal accountability.
Earlier, on September 12, Gao had already denied dining with Yu Menglong before the incident.
He stated that he was in Dongzhimen that night and added, “Do not spread rumors! Do not slander! If necessary, I can provide surveillance footage,”.
