Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Yu Menglong (37) recently passed away after falling from a building.
His death remains surrounded by questions, with some sources alleging he refused hidden rules in the industry.
Five days later, on September 16, Yu Menglong’s studio posted a screenshot on Weibo, claiming to be a statement from his mother.
It stated that his death was an “accident caused by drinking”.
As debates continue, past remarks by Huang Zitao about the dark side of the entertainment industry have resurfaced.
Tao, a former member of EXO, inherited his father’s company L.TAO Entertainment in 2020.
He openly criticized the “drinking culture” in showbiz during a live broadcast.
Huang declared that his company rejects all deals based on drinking sessions.
“If the cooperation requires drinking, get out. All of you. I don’t care who you are,” he said.
He revealed that he himself was often pressured to join drinking parties after work and blasted producers for abusing power.
He also shared stories of young trainees being forced into drinking.
One girl was told, “If you drink this, the resource is yours”. After refusing, she was scolded and humiliated.
Another trainee suffered stomach bleeding after being forced to drink excessively.
Huang emphasized he would never allow his staff to trade dignity for opportunities.
Despite fears that such blunt comments could offend powerful figures, Huang said firmly, “I’m not afraid of being suppressed. What I can’t stand is seeing young people harmed by such dirty practices,”.
