Overseasidol.com — Chinese actor Leo Wu has found himself at the center of intense online discussion after a Weibo user posted a series of controversial allegations beginning on January 18, 2026.

The account, known as “Bai Shanshan a” accused Leo of owing an unspecified “debt” and claimed to possess so-called private photos of the actor, allegedly offering them for sale at a high price.

The claims quickly spread across social media and sparked widespread debate.

The controversy began on the evening of January 18, when the user published a provocative post directly addressing Wu.

Shortly afterward, the same account claimed to be selling an artist’s private photos for approximately 10,000 yuan per image.

Despite the sensational nature of the accusations, no concrete evidence was ever presented, with no photos, videos, or chat records released to support the claims.

As the situation escalated, the account was reported to have created private groups, promising to release “proof” at a specific time.

This behavior led many netizens to question the credibility of the allegations, with some suggesting the actions resembled online fraud or extortion fueled by rumors.

Leo’s studio responded swiftly to the growing controversy. Within roughly 68 minutes of the allegations gaining traction, the studio issued an official statement firmly denying all claims and labeling them as baseless rumors.

The statement also confirmed that evidence had been preserved and that legal action would be taken to safeguard Wu’s reputation and legal rights.

The following day, Leo personally addressed the matter. In a brief response, he stated that he does not know the individual behind the allegations and has entrusted his legal team to pursue the case through proper legal channels.

His direct response further reinforced his stance against the spreading rumors.
