Overseasidol.com — Thai singer-actor Daou Pittaya has publicly apologized after facing criticism online over a scene reenactment inspired by the popular series Girl From Nowhere.

The controversy began when Daou dressed up as the iconic character Nanno and recreated a moment from the show alongside fellow actor Offroad Kantapon Jindataweephol.

In the clip, Offroad reenacted a scene in which his character secretly takes a photo under Nanno’s skirt, a gesture that quickly drew backlash from viewers on social media.

Some netizens argued that the skit was insensitive and appeared to undermine the deeper social themes explored in the franchise, which often highlights issues such as harassment and misconduct.

One viral comment criticized the reenactment for seemingly trivializing women’s struggles and failing to convey the intended message of the original storyline.

Following the wave of criticism, Daou Pittaya released a statement on the platform X, acknowledging public concerns and offering a sincere apology.

He explained that the idea was inspired by Nanno’s well-known behavior in the series and that the moment unfolded spontaneously during the filming of the clip.

However, the actor admitted that he now understands how the reenactment may have made some viewers especially women feel uncomfortable.

Daou stressed that he never intended to mock harassment or make light of sensitive issues, adding that he deeply regrets any distress caused by his actions.

Reflecting on the incident, he acknowledged that the situation should have been handled more carefully.

Daou also expressed gratitude to those who voiced their opinions, promising to be more thoughtful and responsible in the future.
