Overseasidol.com — On June 21, a person claiming to be a former staff member of Chinese short drama actor Zheng Feng posted a lengthy exposé on social media.
The post detailed alleged workplace misconduct, including emotional manipulation, bullying, and forced unpaid labor during their time working with Zheng.
The whistleblower claimed that early in their acquaintance, Zheng Feng asked them to help with material preparation without offering any compensation.
Despite this, they were expected to assist with increasing responsibilities and later even help Zheng establish a personal studio.
The actor, the post claims, treated them like a full-time employee while refusing to pay any wages.
According to the post, when the whistleblower proposed appropriate work arrangements, including fair pay and reasonable workload, Zheng repeatedly rejected or ignored the suggestions.
The actor allegedly prohibited any monetization strategies like advertising or branding partnerships that might bring in profit, citing vague rules and concerns over fame or “bad influence.”
Eventually, the staff member was abruptly dismissed, and Zheng reportedly refused to formally hand over the position or cooperate with any handover process.
The staff member, feeling emotionally manipulated and exploited, accused Zheng of lacking professional boundaries and showing no gratitude for the support received.
Even worse, the whistleblower alleges that Zheng and his close associates spread false rumors to undermine their reputation.
Zheng Feng, known for roles in short dramas such as “Master, Please Stop” and “Villain Recovery Plan”, has not yet publicly responded to the accusations.
Earlier this year, he was honored as “Shining Actor of the Year” at the iQIYI Fluorescent Night 2025, a stark contrast to the current controversy surrounding his professional conduct.
