Overseasidol.com — China’s National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) has officially launched a special nationwide campaign aimed at regulating harmful, inappropriate, and copyright-infringing content within the rapidly growing short drama industry.

The initiative began on June 1 and will run for two months as part of efforts to promote a healthier digital entertainment environment.

According to the official announcement, the campaign will focus on addressing several recurring issues found in some short drama productions and online distributions.

Authorities will target content considered harmful to minors, excessive suggestive or borderline sexual material, portrayals that promote wealth worship and luxury lifestyles, unhealthy relationship values, outdated feudal concepts, violent revenge-themed narratives, vulgar titles, and copyright infringement or piracy-related violations.

Through this initiative, regulators aim to standardize the creation and distribution of short dramas while encouraging content producers and platforms to take greater responsibility for the material they publish.

The campaign is expected to strengthen industry standards and support the long-term development of a cleaner and more responsible content ecosystem.
