Overseasidol.com — The newly released Korean drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”, starring YoonA and Lee Chae Min, has sparked discussion right after its first episode.

The controversy came from a noticeable typo in the use of Chinese characters (Hanja).

In one scene, a banner appeared with the writing “Tai Ping Sheng Da” The correct phrase should have been “Tai Ping Sheng Dai,” which translates to “Era of Peace and Holiness.

” However, the character “代” (dai), meaning “era” or “generation,” was mistakenly replaced with “大” (da), which means “big”.

The mistake quickly caught viewers’ attention, especially since the drama revolves around a royal setting where cultural accuracy is highly valued.

In response, the production team admitted the error and issued an official apology. They also promised to be more careful with production details and review processes in the future.

Despite the controversy, the drama continues to gain buzz thanks to its unique storyline about a royal chef serving a tyrant king.
