Overseasidol.com — Martial arts superstar Jet Li recently shared a video on social media.
He opened up about three life-threatening moments he had faced and how they changed his outlook on mortality.
The first incident happened in 2004 during a family vacation in the Maldives.
A powerful earthquake triggered a tsunami that struck while he was with his daughter.
The waves rose so fast that he was submerged up to his neck. Jet Li said if another wave had hit stronger, he might not have survived.
The second near-death experience came during the filming of “Fearless”. He fell from a high platform headfirst.
Luckily, a stuntman managed to catch him mid-fall, preventing what could have been a broken neck or severe brain injury.
The third and most haunting memory occurred after sustaining internal injuries without realizing it.
While in Tibet at an altitude of 4,300 meters, he suddenly struggled to breathe and even lost control of his body functions.
A three-hour descent by car to reach oxygen supply left him terrified of dying.
Only after arriving on the plains did he finally feel safe again.
Jet Li admitted that he had once been deeply afraid of death. But he now views those experiences as reminders to value life even more.
