Overseasidol.com — According to Xinhua News Agency, the 10th World Traditional Wushu Championships was recently held in Emeishan, Sichuan Province.
During the event, acclaimed actor Jet Li officially stepped down after serving 18 years as the Wushu Image Ambassador for the International Wushu Federation (IWUF).
The title was then passed to actor Wu Jing, who will now continue to promote Chinese martial arts on the global stage.
After his retirement from the ambassador role, the IWUF honored Jet Li with a new title “001 Lifetime Volunteer”.
In an interview with Xinhua, Jet Li shared that his next goal is to help more ordinary martial arts enthusiasts achieve their dreams.
He expressed gratitude for the years he spent representing Wushu worldwide and said he hopes to continue contributing to the spirit and development of martial arts in a new way.
