Overseasidol.com — Thai actor Ken Phupoom Pongsphanuphak revealed his popular bakery, “KenPhuPang,” located in Hat Yai, Songkhla, was devastated by massive flooding.
During his appearance at the fourth edition of the “Aum Aum” market event at Future Park Rangsit, he shared the latest update regarding the condition of his shop.
He explained that the recent flood completely destroyed the entire store. Water levels rose above the first floor, damaging the ceiling, electrical systems, and all equipment inside.
“The damage is 100%. We couldn’t save anything,” he said.
He also shared the chronology of what happened. Initially, the water reached only up to his shins and later receded.
His team then returned to clean the shop and prepare for reopening. However, that same night, the water surged again, and they could no longer access the store.
“We finished cleaning and were ready to open the next day. But that night, the water rose again, and it was too late.
When asked if anything could still be used, he shook his head. “Nothing. Everything is destroyed. We’ll likely need to replace all items with new ones,” he said.
So far, no assistance has arrived from any agencies. Ken Phupoom admitted that he has not calculated the total financial loss because he is not ready to face the actual numbers.
“I don’t want to calculate it yet. I just know everything is gone. Seeing the actual figures would be emotionally overwhelming,”.
Regarding the recovery process, the actor said his team is working hard to restore the shop as soon as possible.
Although he hopes to reopen before New Year, he acknowledged that the bakery might not operate at full capacity.
“Maybe we can start by selling some items like egg cakes first. I’ll visit the city again in the middle of this month to check the situation. From the photos I’ve seen, Hat Yai is in terrible shape,” he added.
