A young lion dance performer from Handan, Hebei, has gone viral on social media after many netizens noticed his striking resemblance to Chinese actor Jackson Yee.

The performer, identified as Wang Ying’ao, gained widespread attention after a video showed him removing his lion dance headgear following a performance.

His sweat-soaked appearance quickly captured viewers’ attention, earning him the nickname “the lion dance world’s Jackson Yee”.

The video generated hundreds of thousands of interactions, with many social media users encouraging him to start livestreaming and capitalize on his newfound popularity.

Despite the growing attention, Wang Ying’ao has decided not to pursue online fame for now.

Through the Handan Jingwu Dragon and Lion Troupe, he stated that his main focus remains lion dancing rather than live streaming.

Wang first discovered lion dancing during his university years when he joined the Handan Jingwu Dragon and Lion Troupe.

Under the guidance of coach Yuan Jingfei, he received professional training and eventually became a full-time performer after graduation.

According to Yuan, the team’s recent rise in popularity has led to an increase in commercial performance requests specifically asking for Wang to appear.

However, he emphasized that performance schedules still depend on team coordination and availability. (Overseasidol.com)
